About The Tropics
The Tropics is a mobile home community on Almaden Boulevard in Union City, Alameda County, with about 544 home sites. It's about 70 miles from our shop in Vacaville.
We're a C-47 licensed manufactured housing contractor, so we can handle the whole job for homes here, including the HCD permit for work on the home and the park construction permit for anything built next to it.

Yes. The Tropics is in Union City, about 70 miles from our Vacaville shop. We remodel kitchens and bathrooms, paint, and build patio covers, carports, steps and ramps for homes in communities like it, and we coordinate with park management on every job.
Who issues permits for a patio cover or carport at The Tropics?
Structures like awnings, patio covers, porches and carports inside the park need a park construction permit from City of Union City. Remodeling the home itself (plumbing, electrical, walls, siding) is permitted by HCD. We pull both.
Do I need the park's approval before starting?
Usually, yes. Most parks ask to review exterior work, and many have rules on colors, materials, setbacks and work hours. We work with the park office as part of the project.
